River Jökla is proudly managed by Angling Service Strengir, a family-run company with over 30 years of experience in offering anglers the best of Icelandic fly fishing. Known for our warm, personal approach, we’ve earned a reputation for delivering exceptional fishing experiences on some of the most productive rivers in Iceland - with Jökla as our crown jewel.
Our operations are rooted in quality, comfort, and a deep respect for both nature and our clients.
Our main lodge on the LOWER JÖKLA, Hálsakot, is a full-service retreat near Egilsstaðir in East Iceland. Overlooking the Kalda River, the main building and its eight twin-bedroom cabins provide a peaceful and elegant base for your fishing adventure. Each room has a private bathroom, and guests enjoy first-class meals, a sauna, an outdoor cold tub, a heated drying room, free WIFI and welcoming communal spaces with a fireplace and stunning views of the valley.

For those fishing the UPPER JÖKLA(JÖKLA II),
we offer accommodation at the simple and charming farmhouse at Hjarðarhagi.

For the 2026 season, will be operating new more comfortable lodge which can be booked as either a full-service or self-catering option.
